Pakistan submarine conducted maiden live weapon firing in Arabian Sea
Place: Arabian Sea Happened: 26 September The Pakistan Navy's first Hangor-class submarine conducted its maiden live weapon firing in the Arabian Sea on Sunday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. ISPR said the newly inducted PNS/M HANGOR accurately engaged a designated long-range target with an anti-ship cruise missile, and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf witnessed the exercise.
A later account from the Ahlul Haqq Network said the firing took place in the North Arabian Sea on 27 September and that the submarine launched an anti-ship cruise missile to engage a designated target at extended range. The Ahlul Haqq Network repeats the claim that the launch was successful but gives a different day and a more specific location (North Arabian Sea) than ISPR. ISPR is the original source for the 26 September Arabian Sea account; Ahlul Haqq Network provided the 27 September North Arabian Sea account.
No figures for killed or injured were given by any source. A photograph of the submarine operation was available with the reporting; it had no caption.
