The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said it struck a “senior commander” of the Al-Qassam Brigades in Khan Yunis. Geopolitics Watch reported the IDF's claim and said reports suggested the target was the Al-Qassam commander of the Rafah Brigade.

Ahlul Haqq Network reported an Israeli airstrike in Mawasi, Khan Yunis, saying Gaza sources gave a casualty toll of two dead and fourteen wounded and identified the target as Hamas' Rafah Brigade commander. The Ahlul Haqq Network is the only source that gives numbers for killed and wounded.
